Over the years, we have received a variety of accolades for our vehicle safety systems including the Backeye®360 and Quiet Vehicle Sounder. Therefore, we are absolutely delighted to announce that the latest addition to our range, Sidescan®Predict, has launched onto the market with three prestigious award recognitions already under its belt.
CLEPA Innovation Awards 2021
Organised by CLEPA -The European Association of Automotive Suppliers – the awards celebrate outstanding achievements in the automotive supply industry, recognising innovation in the fields of environment, safety, connectivity, automation and cooperation.
Every year, the CLEPA Innovation Awards invite organisations from across the automotive supply ecosystem to share their latest and greatest efforts in innovation excellence.
Brigade’s Sidescan®Predict was shortlisted as a finalist for the CLEPA Innovation Award in the SME Safety Category.
Logistics UK Logistics Awards
This was the fifth annual celebration for the Logistics UK Awards, which represent all sectors of the industry including road, rail, sea, air, construction and public service, to those moving goods internationally.
The awards recognise those who have made a significant contribution to the logistics sector and Brigade was delighted that Sidescan®Predict was shortlisted in the Most Innovative Product of the Year category.
MPA and British Precast Health and Safety Awards
MPA and British Precast joined forces to launch this new health and safety awards scheme for 2021. The new awards build on the success of the long established and highly acclaimed MPA Health & Safety Awards and retain many of the key elements associated with it.
Alongside our customer, FM Conway, who piloted our Sidescan®Predict on its fleet of vehicles, we submitted a joint entry for the Safer Transport & Logistics Award 2021. We were absolutely thrilled that FM Conway and Brigade’s Sidescan®Predict were named the winners of this prestigious and important accolade.

FM Conway’s trial of Sidescan®Predict was so successful, the company has since fitted approximately forty systems to its grab and tipper vehicles that typically travel more than 1.3 million miles per annum.
Sidescan®Predict – commercial vehicle safety for the future
Through the use of artificial intelligence, Brigade’s SideScan®Predict constantly gathers object detection data, such as the speed and distance of a cyclist or other vulnerable road users from the vehicle. Additional technology is embedded within the Sidescan®Predict system to gather information such as the speed, direction, acceleration, and the turning rate of a vehicle.
This data feeds an algorithm created by Brigade to calculate the risk of a collision with cyclists and pedestrians who are nearby the vehicle.
Unlike existing systems, which simply register the presence of a potential obstacle, Sidescan®Predict is constantly gathering data in a vehicle’s vicinity. This provides additional benefits to operators by significantly reducing false alarms and increasing confidence in the accuracy of warning alerts.
