Donating to local charity has always been close to the hearts of everyone at Brigade Electronics. As such, every year the staff at Brigade are given the opportunity to vote for charities that they feel make a real difference whom would then receive a generous donation.
In times of a global crisis it is even more important to support organisations who give so much to the local community.
This year Brigade chose to donate £10,000 to each charity; We Are Beams, Demelza Hospice and Ellenor Hospice.
We are Beams is a local charity that supports disabled children and their families.
The disabled children and young people who access our services will typically have one or multiple learning difficulties, complex health needs, physical or sensory impairment, challenging behaviour, Autism or severe ADHD.
“Brigade Electronics has been an amazing supporter of our work and this donation could not come at a better time for Beams. We will use the money wisely and this will help us to re-open our Dragon’s Retreat Respite Unit to take in disabled children in desperate need of a break away from the family.
A massive thank you to all at Brigade Electronics.”
Demelza Hospice provide care for children with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions. Demelza strive to provide specialist care and emotional support for babies, children, young people and the whole family from diagnosis, during day to day family life, times of crisis, end of life and through bereavement.
“To everyone at Brigade Electronics a huge, huge thank you to you all for this incredible donation, it means so much especially at such an uncertain time in our lives.
As you know we provide care for some of the most vulnerable people in society and the Covid-19 crisis has affected every aspect of our organisation’s work. We normally provide end-of-life care and also non-urgent care to children and families who have got a terminal condition, helping them to get the most out of life.
In an increasingly challenging fundraising climate, where the National Council for Voluntary Organisations estimates that charities will lose at least 4.3 Billion in the next 12 weeks, times for us as a charity are only going to get harder. There is going to be more emergency care needed as we go through this crisis, and we’ve also pledged support to the wider NHS effort.
Words cannot express how much vital donations like this mean to us as a charity; ensuring we can continue to provide a lifeline to children with terminal conditions and their families. To each and every one of you who have made this possible at Brigade, thank you and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
I wish you all the best through these trying times, and a huge thank you again.”
Ellenor Hospice provide hospice care and support to families facing terminal illness throughout Kent. This includes pain and symptom relief, palliative care, end of life care, respite, bereavement support and emotional and spiritual care.
“It was a wonderful piece of positive news to be able to share with our team, especially in these testing times that we are all facing.
We rely so much on the support of our local community, now more than ever.
This fantastic donation of £10,000 will help us to continue to provide our expert care and support to local families facing terminal illness.”
We are extremely delighted to have donated £10,000 to each charity and know they are worthy causes changing lives for the better.
