Brigade Electronics joins the CEA

The Construction Equipment Association (CEA) is the trade association that represents the UK construction equipment sector – and is recognised by HM Government as the voice of the industry. They are represented in Brussels – as active members of the Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE).

According to Brigade Electronics Chairman, Chris Hanson-Abbott, OBE, “Brigade are in the business of saving lives.” Therefore joining the CEA is a natural fit where members of the UK construction Equipment Association want to improve standards and drive innovation and safety to the forefront.

Brigade Electronics is the market leader of vehicle safety systems for all types of vehicles from tipper lorries to mobile plant equipment and other types of heavy machinery. The product portfolio includes Backeye°360 for all round vision and Backsense® radar detection systems to reduce collisions with other vehicles.

Brigade is able to advise operators of safety equipment required for a large range of specifications including FORS, CLOCS and Skanska. More recently operators have been requesting information about what is required for operating on HS2 sites. Product required includes digital recording equipment (MDR-500) with GPS for the movement of materials and bulk waste and white noise reversing alarms (bbs-tek®) to minimise sound levels in the environment.

Brigade has a nationwide network of carefully chosen partners (BSPs) who supply product, offer an installation service and support to Brigade customers. Whether you have a large fleet of vehicles or operate vehicles at multiple sites throughout the UK, the BSP network can support your needs. BSP’s also provide support for back to base, onsite and warranty work.

Brigade has also been pivotal in advising customers of the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) especially in relation to recording camera footage. Customers visiting the Brigade website can download a handy guide and checklist to GDPR and cameras and request GDPR compliant stickers advising that the vehicle is recording.

Brigade is pleased to be associated with the CEA and hopes to benefit from the sharing of advice, knowledge and expertise within the industry.
