Quadrifoglio reduce noise pollution & improve vehicle safety for refuse trucks in city centre

For over half a century, Quadrifoglio S.p.A. has managed the integrated waste collection of the 12 municipalities of Florence and Chianti.

Quadrifoglio has 870 vehicles on which they have decided to mount additional safety devices to allow their drivers to manoeuvre with greater confidence and cause less disturbance to residents. Firstly, they have equipped most of the vehicles with bbs-tek® broadband alarms, replacing traditional reversing alarms and reducing noise pollution. bbs-tek® alarms are patented by Brigade Electronics, a leader in safety equipment for commercial vehicles, which emit a characteristic “shh shh” directional White Sound®. This means the sound is only audible in the danger zone, drastically reducing noise pollution.

After the positive experience with bbs-tek®, Quadrifoglio installed another product from Brigade Electronics: Backeye®360 Select. An intelligent camera monitor system designed to assist low-speed manoeuvrability by providing the driver with a complete surround view of the vehicle in real time. Ultrawide cameras mounted on the front, sides and rear of the vehicle capture the surrounding areas of the vehicle including all blind spots. Simultaneous digital images from these cameras are then processed and ‘video stitched’ resulting in a 360° bird’s-eye view within a single image. The software also instantly eliminates any fisheye camera distortion delivering a clear, real-time picture on the driver’s monitor.

Quadrifoglio believes in optimising their drivers’ working environment by equipping them with modern technology to improve safety and increase productivity.
