Resolution
Determines the recording quality and amount of information gathered from a camera. A higher resolution will use more storage capacity. If you do not know the resolution for the camera, most Brigade cameras will record at D1 or lower and Brigade AHD cameras will record at P720 or lower. QCIF is the lowest resolution and P1080, the highest. Each channel can be set independently.
Video Format
The encoding standard the MDR and cameras use. Typically, the European Standard is PAL and North American Standard is NTSC. Backeye®360 cameras are NTSC only. All channels will need be set to the same format, including AHD cameras.
Quality
The recorded compression rate. 1 being the highest quality and 8 the lowest quality. The default setting is 2.
Frame Rate
Determines the number of frames recorded per second. PAL cameras record at a maximum of 25fps and NTSC cameras at a maximum of 30fps
Bitrate (Kbps)
An automatic calculation based on the selected Resolution, Video Format, Quality and Frame Rate.
Recording data per hour
An automatic calculation (Bit Rate x 3600). The amount of Megabytes (HDD storage) required per hour, per channel.
3. Storage Capacity
Select the HDD size (Gigabytes).
4. Total Recordable Hours
Number of recorded hours that can be stored on the HDD before non-event data is overwritten.
