Testing, testing – the weatherproof vehicle safety systems that won’t let you down

Temperatures across the world are extreme, where red-hot desert highs and icy lows offer challenges that even the most robust products could not stand. Brigade’s commercial vehicle safety systems are sold across the globe, which means it’s imperative that we test them in grueling conditions and environments to ensure the highest possible specifications.

Our onboard camera monitor systemsobstacle detection equipment, and reversing alarms are vital to the safety not just of semi-trucks and machinery, but anyone in the vicinity of these vehicles. This could include colleagues on work-sites such as quarries or waste recycling centers, as well as pedestrians, cyclists and drivers on public roads.

We are committed to protecting people by preventing accidents in every region of the world – whatever the weather conditions. In fact, when the weather is harsh, our products come into their own, helping drivers to identify obstacles or warn vulnerable road users even in conditions with limited visibility such as thick fog, snowstorms or glaring sunlight.

Our latest 360 surround-view camera system delivers ultimate durability

The latest generation of our Backeye®360 intelligent camera monitor system offers a good example of the rigorous standards we apply to all our products. This bestselling safety equipment has been put through its paces to ensure optimum performance in all terrains and temperatures. Backeye®360 is a market-leading product that eliminates blind spots by giving a bird’s-eye view of the area around a vehicle in a single image displayed on a monitor in the driver’s cab.

Its operating temperature range is from -30oC to +75oC, while the equipment can be comfortably stored from -40oC to +85oC. Its vibration rating is 8.5G, ensuring that sensors and all mechanical equipment can withstand vibration, for example from engines or moving parts on a truck, or when driving in rugged terrain. The high shock ratings also mean the cameras will carry on working even in the most unpredictable scenarios.

Brigade’s technology is proven to reduce collisions with people and objects, and it’s now sold in over 35 countries worldwide, operating in all kinds of environments, from desert drill stations to research sites in frozen landscapes.
