Monday 6th July 2016, saw the 31st Motor Transport Awards take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London. Hosted by Johnathon Ross and judged by more than 70 of the transport industry’s leading figures, the award ceremony recognises the achievements of industry operators across 20 carefully selected categories.
At this year’s ceremony Motor Transport opened the doors to their ‘Hall of Fame’, sponsored by Scania, the initiative has been established to recognise the achievements of those who have made a significant contribution to the road transport industry. We are proud to announce that founder and Chairman of Brigade Electronics, Chris Hanson-Abbott is one of three members to be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Since introducing the first reversing alarm to the UK market in 1976, Chris has gone on to introduce a portfolio of innovative safety solutions to the UK and Europe including the first Doppler radar, the first ultrasonic rear detection system, the first rear view camera system and the first white sound reversing alarm.
In 2014 Chris received recognition in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list and was awarded an OBE for services to Vehicle Road Safety.
Despite growing rapidly in the last few years, Brigade retains its family values and passion for improving safety. Asked what he does, Chris simply says: “We are in the business of saving lives.”
