bbs-TI Turn Indicator Warning Alarm

Warning the vulnerable road user

At Brigade, we are committed to improving the safety of vulnerable road users. This includes reducing the risk of cyclists being involved in a collision with an HGV when the vehicle is turning to the nearside. Much has been developed to improve driver awareness of pedestrians and cyclists in the vehicle’s nearside blind spot, but this doesn’t always help the vulnerable road user – especially if they are travelling at speed and go unnoticed by the driver.

Mounted to the side of the vehicle, the bbs-Turn Indicator alarm synchronises its broadband sound (bbs) with the flash of the left/right turn indicators, informing the cyclist or pedestrian of the vehicle’s intended turn and allowing them to take appropriate action.

The bbs-TI is particularly appropriate for vehicles that operate in multiple countries where a spoken side turn alarm would cause language complications. bbs-tek® White Sound® alarms have locatable sound that dissipates quickly, meaning the alarm can only be heard in the danger zone therefore reducing unnecessary noise disturbances.

bbs-TI Benefits

bbs-TI

  • bbs-TI complies with legal requirements that require an ‘audible vehicle manoeuvring warning’ to warn vulnerable road users when a vehicle is turning – such as Transport for London’s Direct Vision Standard.
  • The bbs-TI is compatible with Brigade’s ultrasonic sensor systems – to inform the driver of hazards close to the vehicle.
  • Suitable for left turn or right turn applications.
