The Top Commercial Vehicle Safety Systems

Commercial vehicle safety is one of the main items on the agenda for all business owners, whether driving a single van around town, planning national and international trips for a substantial fleet of HGVs or masterminding the excavation of a major building site. The importance of keeping your workforce and other road users safe is vital; being struck by a moving vehicle accounted for 30 fatal injuries to workers in the UK in 2018/19.

Lack of attention to the safety of your employees can result in significant legal and emotional costs for personal injury as well as the financial cost of vehicle and property damage.

Here at Brigade, our mission is to prevent collisions and save lives by developing and marketing vehicle and mobile machinery safety solutions. We take that very seriously, and we’re proud that our extensive range of products has contributed to the safety of the country’s workforce.

Our Backeye®360 combines images from ultra-wide-angle cameras, resulting in a ‘bird’s-eye view’ of the vehicle and surrounding area. Research has shown that in the time it takes to scan four mirrors, assess and then react to hazards, a vehicle could travel as far as 33 feet. Vehicle camera safety systems protect the driver and any ground workers in the area where the vehicle is working.

Our bbs-tek® multi-frequency reversing alarms use a wide range of White Sound® frequencies which enable the listener immediately to locate where the sound is coming from. There are a number of reversing alarms on the market, but Brigade’s is the only one to have been awarded the Quiet Mark , which demonstrates excellence in low noise and high performance. Our alarms are heard in the danger zone but not at unnecessary distances away from the vehicle. They also have Noise Abatement Society certification for use during night deliveries, enabling nearby residents to remain undisturbed.

Radar obstacle detection is another vital weapon in the safety armoury. Our Backsense®  heavy-duty radar sensor systems are designed to detect people and objects in blind spots, providing the driver with in-cab visual and audible warnings. Backsense® uses Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology which transmits a continuous varying radar frequency signal with unique time stamps to each instance of the wave.

Why not get in touch to find out how we can help you prevent incidents and injury to your employees, whether driving or on site. Whatever your safety requirements, we can help make your fleet one of the safest on the road.
