Cemex is a global construction materials company with more than 100 years of experience supporting infrastructure projects around the world. Operating in over 50 countries, the company is one of the leading producers of cement, ready-mix concrete and aggregates used in construction. In Poland, Cemex continues to invest in innovation, operational efficiency and safer working environments across its network of production facilities and vehicle fleets.
As part of its commitment to improving concrete pump safety, Cemex looked for ways to improve visibility around large machinery operating on busy construction sites. Concrete pumps regularly work in confined areas where drivers must manoeuvre close to workers, vehicles and equipment. In these conditions, clear visibility around the vehicle is essential for safer operations and improved driver awareness.
To support safer manoeuvring and eliminate blind spots, Cemex implemented Brigade camera systems across selected concrete pumps. The solution included front, side and reversing cameras, in-cab monitors and MDR mobile digital recorders.
The challenge: improving visibility around concrete pumps
- directly in front of the cab,
- along the passenger side,
- and behind the vehicle during reversing manoeuvres.
Drivers must remain aware of workers moving nearby while also monitoring surrounding vehicles, site activity and the operation of the pump itself. Limited visibility can make low-speed manoeuvring more difficult, especially in restricted or high-traffic work areas.
Cemex wanted a practical solution that would improve concrete pump safety by giving operators a clearer real-time view around the vehicle and helping them work more confidently in demanding site conditions.
The solution: Brigade camera systems for concrete pump safety
- front cameras monitoring the area ahead of the vehicle,
- side cameras helping remove blind spots,
- reversing cameras supporting rearward manoeuvring,
- in-cab monitors displaying live camera feeds,
- and MDR mobile digital recorders for video recording and review.
The system provides continuous visibility around the vehicle, helping drivers identify potential hazards more quickly and manoeuvre more safely on site.
Designed for heavy-duty environments, Brigade camera systems are resistant to vibration, dust, moisture and changing temperatures, making them well suited to demanding construction applications.
Implementation across the Cemex fleet
The in-cab monitor was installed within the driver’s natural line of sight, allowing operators to quickly check camera views while remaining focused on the task and surrounding environment. This helped integrate the technology naturally into daily vehicle operations.
Results: supporting safer construction site operations
The camera systems helped support:
- safer manoeuvring on busy construction sites,
- improved visibility around blind spots,
- better awareness of workers and obstacles near the vehicle,
- reduced risk of vehicle damage,
- and improved overall concrete pump safety.
By improving visibility around large machinery, Cemex strengthened safety standards across its operations while supporting drivers with practical technology designed for real working environments.
A partnership focused on long-term safety
Brigade continues to support fleet operators with safety technologies designed to improve visibility, reduce blind spots and help create safer working environments across construction and heavy-duty applications.
