How to use
1. Select the product from the dropdown selection

2. Select basic or advanced mode

  • Basic: Use the default framerate, quality and encoding.
  • Advanced: Customise the default framerate, quality and encoding.

3. Select video format

  • The encoding standard the MDR and cameras use. Typically, the European Standard is PAL and North American Standard is NTSC. Backeye®360 cameras are NTSC only.

4. Enable channel for each camera you wish to record from

5. Per channel, select the following:

  • Resolution: Determines the recording quality and amount of information gathered from a camera. A higher resolution will use more storage capacity. Each channel can be set independently.
  • Frame Rate: Determines the number of frames recorded per second. On analogue channels, PAL cameras record at a maximum of 25fps and NTSC cameras at a maximum of 30fps. On IP channels, all cameras support up to 30fps.
  • Video Format: The encoding standard the MDR and cameras use. Typically, the European Standard is PAL and North American Standard is NTSC. Backeye®360 cameras are NTSC only. All channels will need be set to the same format, including AHD cameras.
  • Quality: The recorded compression rates. 1 being the highest quality and 8 the lowest quality.
  • Encoding: We advise using H264, in certain application H265 may use less data, allowing more days of footage to be stored.

6. Recording data per hour

  • An automatic calculation. The total number of gigabytes (HDD storage) required per hour.

7. Storage Size

  • Select the HDD/SSD/SD Card size.

8. Recording hours per day

  • Number of recorded hours per day, this should include the post record time.
