Brigade has become a Tier One Supply Partner for CLOCS-A (Construction Logistics and Community Safety – Australia), strengthening our commitment to reducing risks for vulnerable road users on Australian roads.

With over four decades of experience in indirect vision technologies, we bring international expertise and proven solutions to support the rapid rollout of CLOCS-A across the construction logistics sector.

The need for construction site safety

Australia’s $200 billion infrastructure boom is reshaping our cities, but also bringing an unavoidable increase in truck movements through urban environments. This raises the risk of interactions with cyclists, pedestrians, and motorcyclists. CLOCS-A addresses this challenge with a consistent, nationally recognised standard aimed at improving safety around construction vehicles.

“Construction can’t happen without trucks – but safety doesn’t need to come at the cost of efficiency,” says Emily Hardy, Marketing Manager, Brigade Electronics. “We’re proud to support CLOCS-A and help the industry adopt technologies that protect lives and support productivity.”

What is CLOCS-A?

Funded through the NHVR’s Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative, CLOCS-A provides a tiered compliance framework that includes clear requirements for indirect vision aids based on the level of certification an operator seeks.

Bronze Certification

  • Reverse beepers
  • Reversing sensors or reversing cameras

Silver Certification

  • All Bronze features
  • Left-turn audible warnings
  • Left-side blind spot detection

Gold Certification

  • All Silver features
  • Telematics Monitoring System (vehicle tracking, driver behavior, fatigue alerts)

A global leader in vehicle safety technology

Brigade has led the global conversation around Vision Zero and safer urban transport, including over a decade of work with CLOCS in the UK, and direct involvement in schemes such as London’s Direct Vision Standard (DVS), Milan’s urban safety initiatives, and Executive 39 in New York. Brigade also sits on the Direct Vision Council with Together for Safer Roads (TSR) in North America.

Our portfolio of safety technology is purpose-built for harsh construction environments and includes:

  • White Sound® reversing alarms
  • 360° bird’s-eye view camera monitor systems
  • Ultrasonic and radar-based obstacle detection
  • Dashcams and mobile digital recording systems
  • Integrated video telematics, including with Geotab

Driven by Purpose, Guided by Innovation

Innovation continues to drive Brigade’s offering. Two recent breakthroughs are reshaping how operators approach blind spot protection and collision prediction.

Backeye®360 AI

A surround-view system that not only stitches four vehicle-side images into a seamless overhead view but also uses AI to detect the human form and warn drivers in real time.
