Holcim Improves Workplace Safety in Quarries with Brigade Systems

Holcim partnered with Brigade to improve workplace safety in quarries and industrial environments. By implementing AI cameras, IP cameras and hazard detection systems, operators gained greater awareness of people and obstacles around heavy equipment, supporting safer and more efficient site operations.

Holcim Poland implements low-carbon technologies and solutions that can be applied at every stage of a building’s lifecycle – from design and construction to repair and renovation. The company offers, among others, low-carbon cements from the ECOPlanet family for construction and precast applications (with a 30–50% lower carbon footprint than pure Portland cement CEM I), ECOPact concrete (with a carbon footprint reduced by at least 30% compared to a reference concrete made with CEM I cement and based on 2020 CO₂ emission levels), and ECOSource recycled aggregates. Its portfolio also includes flooring systems as well as insulation solutions designed for comprehensive thermal renovation projects.

The collaboration between Brigade and Holcim focused on increasing workplace safety in demanding industrial environments such as quarries and heavy equipment operating areas.

As part of the project, modern solutions were implemented to support machine operators and improve situational awareness during daily operations. The Brigade systems used in the project, including AI cameras, IP cameras, and hazard warning systems, help detect people and obstacles around the machine, increasing the safety of both operators and nearby workers.

The Brigade x Holcim project demonstrates how modern technologies can support safer, more aware, and better-controlled operations in dynamic industrial environments.
