- FORS
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a nationwide accreditation program designed to raise standards across the road transport industry. While it is generally aimed at the freight sector, FORS also applies to vans and other commercial vehicles.
At FORS Bronze level, there is no immediate requirement to fit additional safety equipment. However, operators are expected to progress to FORS Silver level within a set timeframe.
At FORS Silver level, fitting specific safety equipment becomes mandatory, covering areas such as blind spot protection and vulnerable road user safety.
For operators aiming even higher, FORS Gold level introduces additional requirements, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and environmental standards.
Brigade’s FORS Silver Approved Products and CLOCS
For vehicles over 3.5 tonnes (CLOCS and FORS Silver)

Sidescan®
4 sensor systems are fitted to the side of the vehicle. Particularly relevant for the near-side blind spot, where cyclists or pedestrians can otherwise go undetected.

Backchat® Speaking Alarms
The system features clear spoken messages and alarms that alert for reversing, turning, and handbrake activation and includes a night-time cut-out feature.

Nearside Camera
High-definition (1080p) nearside camera with a flush mount design. It provides a wide viewing angle of 130 x 70 x 151° and is rated IP69K for water and dust resistance.

Rearview Camera
Cameras can help the driver to see blind spots and provide a reversing aid by delivering a live feed on the monitor of everything in the camera view.

360° System
360° vehicle camera systems are designed to assist low-speed manoeuvrability by providing the driver with a real-time surround view of the vehicle in a single image.

White Sound Alarm
Our patented White Sound® alarms are the safest reversing alarms and do not cause a noise nuisance. The ‘ssh ssh’ white noise can be heard extremely clearly.
Ultimate Requirement at FORS Gold Standard
(Not applicable to CLOCS)
“Fleet operators shall capture, investigate and analyse road traffic collision information that results in injury or damage to vehicles and property. A log of all collisions shall be maintained which shall include details of all evidence required to investigate an incident.”
Mobile Digital Recorder
Brigade’s MDR-600 series includes 1TB and 2TB HDD & SSD models. The MDR-644 range features 4 analog and 4 IP camera inputs whilst the MDR-641 range includes 4 analogue and 1 IP camera input. Both ranges include models with 4G connectivity capabilities, allowing data to be accessed from the recorder without physically having to go to the vehicle.
