Camera-based person detection systems

On construction sites, the safety of workers and vehicles is the top priority. However, heavy construction equipment and on- and off-road construction vehicles pose a real danger.

On average, seven workers are killed and 93 seriously injured every year. Slow-moving vehicles, blind spots and difficult conditions with poor visibility create one of the most dangerous work environments in the world.

Camera-based person detection systems offer a solution to this problem.

These systems recognize people in any posture and warn the driver visually and acoustically of people in the danger zone.

The GS-BAU-71 test principle defines requirements for camera-based person detection systems.
