Operator visibility can be limited due to blind spots around the over-sized machines and this is often made worse by the harsh working environment; terrain, weather or low light. For example, 40% of fatal accidents on quarry sites are caused by moving vehicles and 70% of collisions occur at low speed because of poor visibility.

Monitors
Backeye® monitors allow multiple camera images to be viewed on a single monitor with dedicated views triggered by, for example, reverse gear. Cameras provide a wider angle of view than mirrors and are less likely to be damaged, while built-in LED’s offer superior visibility in low light conditions.
Cameras
Brigade’s camera monitor systems enable drivers and operators to maneuver and drive safely. Vehicle-mounted CCTV cameras can help the driver see blind spots and provide a reversing aid by delivering a live feed on the monitor of everything in the camera view, including people or obstacles.

Backsense® heavy-duty radar proximity sensor systems are designed to objects in blind spots, significantly reducing incidents. They detect stationary and moving objects, providing the driver with in-cab visual and audible warnings – alerting the operator whose attention cannot be focused on all danger areas. Backsense® obstacle detection sensors work effectively in harsh environments and in poor visibility including darkness, smoke and fog.
