This year, E.ON Bioerdgas GmbH from Einbeck, together with Kürt König Baumaschinen GmbH from Einbeck, equipped a depot wheel loader with Brigade’s Backeye®360 AI with human form detection.
The challenge
One of the key vehicles on site is a wheel loader that transports more than 100 tonnes of silage to bunkers every day. Due to the size of the loader’s shovel, the operator faces a significant blind spot directly in front of the vehicle. This restricted visibility increases risk, particularly in an environment where people are frequently working nearby.
E.ON Bioerdgas GmbH needed a solution that would improve visibility, support the operator, and reduce the risk of incidents, without slowing down daily operations.
The solution: Backeye®360 AI
To address these challenges, the wheel loader was equipped with Backeye®360 AI with human form detection.
The system uses four cameras to create a single, real-time, bird’s-eye view of the vehicle’s surroundings. This gives the operator a clear and intuitive overview of the entire environment, even in busy and confined areas.
Crucially, the integrated artificial intelligence detects people around the vehicle and alerts the driver both visually and acoustically when a person is identified. This added layer of awareness supports safer manoeuvring in high-risk situations.
In addition, a front camera enables direct monitoring of the shovel’s working area, further improving control and confidence during operation.
The result
By integrating intelligent camera technology into everyday operations, E.ON Bioerdgas GmbH has taken a proactive step towards reducing risk and protecting people on site – without compromising productivity.
Backeye®360 AI with person detection helps ensure that safety is built into every movement, every day.
