Eurosealand and Brigade: Achieving GSR Vehicle Compliance

Discover how Eurosealand and Brigade Electronics secured EU type approval for Radar Predict on a custom Ferqui minibus—delivering GSR compliance and advanced VRU detection for specialist vehicles across Europe.
Meeting the latest EU General Safety Regulations (GSR) is a complex challenge—especially for specialist vehicle manufacturers who rely on bespoke builds. But a new collaboration between Eurosealand, a Spanish automotive technology integrator, and Brigade Electronics is paving a much clearer path.

The Challenge:

Homologation for Bespoke Builds

Under current EU legislation, GSR-compliant safety systems must be fitted at the point of vehicle homologation. However, for many bespoke vehicle types, factory-fit is not always feasible. This creates a critical challenge, especially for coachbuilders, bodybuilders, and niche manufacturers.
That’s where Brigade comes in—with safety systems that are not only retrofittable but rigorously tested to meet UNECE Reg 151 and 159. This opens up compliance options for a range of vehicle types, without compromising on innovation or build quality.

A Breakthrough in EU Type Approval for Custom Vehicles

A standout success story from the Eurosealand collaboration is Ferqui’s Mercedes Sprinter-based minibus.

In April, the vehicle was fitted with Brigade’s award-winning Radar Predict. The vehicle was then validated by the independent test house LCOE, where it gained EU type approval under UNECE Regulation 151. This marked a crucial step forward in compliance options for a range of vehicle types, without compromising on innovation or build quality.

Working with Eurosealand and LCOE has shown what can be achieved when partners bring both technical and regulatory know-how to the table. We’re proud to help customers like Ferqui not only meet compliance, but lead on safety innovation.

What Makes Radar Predict Different?

Radar Predict is designed with one mission in mind: proactively protecting Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs) such as cyclists and pedestrians. Here’s how it works:

  • Dual-radar sensors combined with AI-based trajectory analysis monitor the path and speed of nearby road users.
  • The system calculates the likelihood of a collision in real-time, triggering targeted alerts only when a genuine risk is detected.
  • Avoiding false alarms helps drivers stay alert without becoming desensitised.

Already recognized under schemes like Transport for London’s Direct Vision Standard and Italy’s Blind Spot Regulation, Radar Predict is proving its value in dense urban settings across Europe.

Eurosealand: A Trusted Integration Partner in Spain

As a technology integrator, Eurosealand brings deep understanding of both hardware installation and regulatory certification pathways. Their role in the Ferqui project showcases their ability to:

  • Integrate complex systems with minimal disruption
  • Navigate homologation processes with leading test houses
  • Deliver local service and support across the Iberian Peninsula
  • Provide access to Brigade’s premium safety technologies

Why Choose Brigade?

When it comes to aftermarket safety systems, not all products are created equal. What sets Brigade apart?
