Here, Brigade answers some frequently asked questions about funding grants and provides a breakdown of what’s on offer and how to apply.
Is funding available for retrofitting older vehicles with safety systems?
What is the Turn Assist funding programme, and who can apply?32>
Here’s what it offers:
- Up to 80% of the cost (including installation) for Turn Assist systems
- Available for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, buses with 9 or more seats, and toll-paying freight vehicles
- Companies can apply for up to 10 vehicles per year
- Deadline for applications: 31st December 2025
- Applications go through the Federal Logistics and Mobility Office (BALM)
- Brigade’s Radar Predict and other Turn Assist systems with an ABE are eligible
What’s available under the Environmental Protection and Safety Programme?
Key details:
- Available to vehicles with a technically permissible mass of at least 3,501kg
- Funding of up to €2,000 per vehicle, and up to €33,000 per company each year
- Applications must be submitted by end of August 2025 via BALM
- Qualifying equipment includes blind spot detection systems and telematics, such as Brigade’s driver safety cameras, designed to help drivers stay alert and focused.
Are there any other funding options for safety camera systems?
Yes. There are two additional funding routes available for businesses in construction, agriculture, forestry, and horticulture.
1. BG Bau (German construction employers’ liability association:
- Supports both small and large companies
- Funding covers up to 50% of backup and side camera systems
- Maximum of €500 per system
2. BG Bau (camera-based people detection systems)
- Also includes camera-based people detection systems (certified to GS-BAU-71 standard)
- Brigade offers three certified kits specifically for this programme
3. SVLFG (Social Insurance for Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture)
- Designed to improve operational safety in agricultural and forestry sectors
- One application allowed per funding cycle
- Provides up to 50% of acquisition costs, capped at €2,500
- Focuses on camera-based people detection systems – essential for safety in busy outdoor work environments
