Why Audible Backup Alarms?
Audible alarms play a critical role in enhancing safety in various environments, from construction sites to urban traffic. These alarms are designed to emit a specific tone that is easily recognizable, cutting through ambient noise to alert pedestrians and workers to the presence of moving vehicles or equipment. The primary reason to use audible alarms is to reduce the risk of incidents and injuries by providing a clear, audible warning that can be heard over other sounds in the area.
Using audible alarms is a straightforward and effective measure to improve safety, protect lives, and comply with regulatory standards, making them an essential feature for any operation where vehicles and machinery operate in close proximity to people.

Backup and Warning Alarms
Back-up alarms are devices to warn anyone in a vehicle’s path that it is moving backwards. Beeping alarms were introduced to Europe in the 1970s. They provided a vital step forward in safety, yet over time they have been shown to have several inherent issues; specifically concerning their environmental impact, but also in terms of safety – the exact reason they were introduced in the first place. There is now a much better alternative
Brigade Electronics – at the forefront of reversing alarm technology since introducing the first reversing and warning alarm models addressed the problems of the effectiveness of alarms in urban and work environments.

Quiet Vehicle Sounder (AVAS)
Known as an Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS)
The Quiet Vehicle Sounder warns vulnerable road users of an approaching electric/hybrid vehicle.
Since 2010, Brigade has been involved in the QRTV (Quiet Road Transport Vehicles) working group to establish requirements for a UN standard.
Brigade has developed a multi-frequency Quiet Vehicle Sounder, integrating the patented bbs-tek® technology. bbs-tek® uses a wide range of White Sound® frequencies. This enables anyone in the direct path of the vehicle to instantly locate where and in what direction the sound is coming from and take evasive action if required. There is no safer alternative.
