Reversing Alarms for Safer Vehicle Manoeuvring

Brigade reversing alarms provide clear audible warning when commercial vehicles and mobile plant are moving in reverse. Designed to support driver awareness and help alert people nearby, the range includes heavy-duty, medium-duty and high-voltage White Sound reversing alarms for a variety of vehicle and equipment applications.

From busy yards and loading areas to sites with changing background noise, Brigade’s bbs-tek® White Sound® alarms use multi-frequency broadband sound that is instantly locatable and confined to the danger area, helping reduce noise nuisance outside the hazard zone.

Audible Warning Where It Matters Most

Reversing vehicles can create risk around loading bays, worksites, warehouses and other operating environments where people and machinery work in close proximity. A reversing alarm gives a clear audible warning that a vehicle is moving backwards, helping pedestrians and site workers identify when a vehicle is manoeuvring.

Waarom alarmen omkeren?

Brigade Electronics have been at the forefront of reversing alarm technology since introducing the first reversing and warning alarm models addressed the problems of effectiveness of alarms in urban and work environments.

Brigade Reversing Alarms

Brigade’s bbs-tek® White Sound® reversing alarms are designed to make the sound easier to locate than conventional tonal alarms. The sound dissipates quickly outside the danger area, helping reduce unnecessary noise for nearby workers, residents and local communities.

Heavy-duty Reversing Alarms

Built for vehicles and mobile plant operating in demanding environments. Available in 102 dB and 107 dB models. They operate on 12-24Vdc systems and are designed for applications where a stronger audible warning is required.

Medium-duty Reversing Alarms

Suited for commercial vehicles and applications where a clear, locatable warning is needed without excessive noise spread. The range includes 82 dB, 87 dB, 92 dB and 97 dB models for 12-24Vdc systems.

Zelfinstellende achteruitrijalarmen

Designed for working environments where background noise levels change throughout the day. Instead of operating at a fixed sound level, they continually adjust to 5-10 dB above ambient noise, helping keep the alarm audible without being louder than necessary.

High-voltage Reversing Alarms

For electric forklift and high-voltage applications, Brigade offers White Sound reversing alarms for 36-80Vdc systems. These alarms provide the same locatable broadband warning technology in a format suited to high-voltage vehicle requirements.

Waarschuwing zijwaartse afslag

Quiet Vehicle Sounder (AVAS)

bbs-tek® White Sound Technology

Brigade’s bbs-tek® reversing alarms use White Sound, a multi-frequency broadband sound that is easier to locate than a traditional tonal “beep beep” alarm. This helps people nearby identify where the reversing vehicle is coming from, supporting awareness during low-speed manoeuvring.

The sound is designed to stay concentrated within the danger area and dissipate quickly outside the hazard zone. For busy worksites, depots, loading areas and urban operations, this can help provide an effective reversing warning while reducing unnecessary noise nuisance beyond the immediate risk area.

For environments where background noise changes throughout the day, Brigade also offers self-adjusting bbs-tek alarms. These continually adjust to 5-10 dB above ambient noise level, helping keep the alarm audible without being louder than necessary.

Find the Right Reversing Alarm for Your Fleet

Whether you need heavy-duty, medium-duty or high-voltage reversing alarms, Brigade can help you select the right warning system for your vehicles, operating environment and voltage requirements.

Adapts to changing site noise

Self-adjusting bbs-tek® models continually adjust to 5-10 dB above ambient noise, helping maintain an audible warning without excessive volume.

Veelgestelde vragen

Are talking reversing alarms better than beepers for safety?

Talking reversing alarms can be useful because they give a clear spoken warning, helping people nearby understand what a vehicle is doing. Traditional beepers provide a simple audible alert, but the sound can sometimes be harder to locate in noisy environments. The right choice depends on the vehicle, site conditions, background noise and the type of warning needed.

What is a self-adjusting reversing alarm?

A self-adjusting reversing alarm continually adjusts its output to 5-10 dB above the surrounding noise level, helping keep the alarm audible without being louder than necessary.

How do white sound reversing alarms work?

White sound backup alarms use a multi-frequency broadband sound, often heard as a “ssh ssh” warning, rather than a traditional tonal beep. This type of sound is designed to be easier to locate, helping people nearby identify the direction of a reversing vehicle. It also dissipates quickly outside the danger area, which can help reduce unnecessary noise nuisance.

What are the different types of reversing alarms for trucks?

Common truck reversing alarm options include traditional tonal beepers, white sound reversing alarms, self-adjusting smart alarms and speaking alarms. Tonal alarms provide a familiar beep, white sound alarms support directional awareness, smart alarms adjust to changing ambient noise levels, and speaking alarms deliver a clear spoken message such as a reversing or turning warning.

White sound backup alarm vs traditional beeper: what is the difference?

A traditional beeper uses a tonal “beep beep” sound to warn people that a vehicle is reversing. A white sound reversing alarm uses broadband sound that is designed to be more locatable and more focused within the hazard area. For busy depots, worksites, urban routes and night-time operations, white sound alarms can help provide a clear reversing warning while reducing noise spread beyond the immediate area.
